Fridges, freezers and whitegoods may be reused, repaired or recycled.
Disposal options
- If reusable, drop off free at Goodies Junction at:
- A fridge buyback program is available through ActewAGL under which working fridges can be collected for recycling and a $30 rebate applied to the account holder’s electricity account. Ph: 1300 136 008
- Contact a business who specialises in the reconditioning and recycling of such items:

- Materials made predominantly of metal (80 percent) can be dropped free at the following Transfer Stations as the metal can be recovered:
Why?
Whitegoods contain recoverable metal that can be reused, reducing the demand for energy intensive, mined raw materials. Air conditioners and refrigerators run on hydrofluorocarbons, a refrigerant that releases tonnes of carbon dioxide when not properly removed before recycling.
